Purchasing a laptop for college is a big decision. Technology requirements vary depending on the type of course you are taking. Some courses do not specify a particular type of technology, but most courses, regardless of the delivery method, now include a web-based component to enhance instruction.

  • 16GB of RAM

  • DSL or cable internet with 10 Mbps speed

Course Specific Hardware and Software

Be sure to check the course's special instructions or syllabi for specific hardware or software requirements.

  •  Engineering Technology courses:
    • Inteli7 14400, AMD Ryzen 7 7600, or equivalent processor
    • 32GB RAM
    • 1TB SSD
    • Graphics adapter with at least 16GB GDDR
    • Windows 11 Pro or above OR macOS 24
    • DSL or cable internet with 100 Mbps speed
  • EGR113 and EGR220: Requires Windows OS.
  • Visual Communication courses: MacBook Pro preferred.  For PC: Graphics card with at least 8GB VRAM.
