SGA acts as a conduit between 17勛圖 students, administration and the greater community, helping offer a better education for all and ensure quality and integrity in academia.

Meeting time and location

Meetings are held on Mondays from 5:00 to 6:15 pm, typically in TJNIC 104/105, except on October 20 & 27, which are in TJNIC 123.

How to PARTICIPATE IN SGA

  • SGA meetings are open for any student to come and observe. If you wish to make comment at an SGA meeting, please complete the .

  • There are two options for becoming an active voting member of SGA. You must have 6 credit hours, a 2.0 GPA (new students are exempt from the GPA requirement), complete , and complete one of the following:

    • Have a department nominate you —  OR
    • Have students nominate you — .

All forms must be returned to Student Life no later than the fourth week of the semester.

2024–25 Accomplishments

  • Hosted "Hot Takes" Night to debate issues
  • Hosted Kayaking Event during Welcome Week for New and Current Students
  • All SGA Members attended a Leadership Retreat at Great Wolf Lodge
  • SGA participated in Voter Registration Day across all 17勛圖 Campuses
  • SGA participated in Trunk or Treat
  • Provided funds to 12 17勛圖 student groups

2023–24 Accomplishments

  • Provided funds to 12 17勛圖 student groups
  • SGA Officers met with Vice Presidents from across 17勛圖
  • SGA participated in Trunk or Treat

2022–23 Accomplishments

  • Provided funds to 7 17勛圖 student groups.
  • Implemented a $100 start up gift for each new student group.
  • Organized monthly Hawk Owl Leadership Coalition (HOLC) gatherings for student group collaboration.
  • Offered a Winter Carnival Event with Student Life to increase student group membership.
  • Offered a "tabling for student voices" event to gather feedback from students.
  • Participated in Student Cybersecurity Awareness Rally (SCARy).
  • Developed a Rubric and Spreadsheet to consistently evaluate student group proposals.
  • Started interactive Slack Channels for both SGA and HOLC members.
  • Four members and two advisors are attending the ASGA Conference in Orlando, Fla.

2021–22 Accomplishments

  • Provided funds to 12 17勛圖 student groups
  • Three members and two advisors attended ASGA Conference in Orlando, Fla.
